Description

A beautiful bar cabinet or sideboard by Paolo Buffa, Italy, circa 1940. Original mirrors are in excellent condition. The two parchment doors are divided in the center by a sand etched mirror and surrounded by a maple and black lacquered frame.
Also the base with its two drawers is made of maple, while the legs sides, the sinuous handles and the top of the cabinet are black lacquered.
The interior of this cabinet is entirely made of etched mirrors, which are illuminated by lights switched on by doors opening.
Buffa was an understudy of Gio Ponti and an early collaborator with A. Cassi Ramelli, Buffa was predominantly a furniture and interiors designer and was for years considered one of the most important of Milan’s many architects.
